This unique bowl is 35 cm large.
It's handmade on the pottery wheel with a combination of red and black stoneware clay.
Wheel throwing different clays in one piece is not easy because the more time you take for centering the clay, the more the different colors mix up. This requires a lot of practice. Unfortunately, many pieces break during baking because the clays react differently to the heat.
For each bowl, I have an average of one broken bowl. Although this bowl has no inside or outside glaze, it's waterproof because it was baked at a high temperature (1240°C). I use similar bowl as fruit bowls but they can serve many purposes.
