Beekeeping Initiation
Discover the Fascinating World of Bees at a Private Castle Near Brussels
Step into the buzzing world of bees and explore their incredible role in our environment, all just ten minutes from Brussels, at the beautiful private Castle of Bever.
As someone passionate about the environment, I’ve been a beekeeper since 2011. Today, I manage around thirty hives across several apiaries in Flanders and Brussels. I’m also the proud author of the exhibition 'To Bee or Not to Bee', created in collaboration with GoodPlanet.
During this immersive initiation, I’ll guide you through the world of beekeeping. After a brief introduction, we’ll head to the apiary, where you’ll get hands-on experience opening a real beehive. You’ll learn about the inner workings of a hive, how bees organize their lives throughout the season, and why solitary bees are so important. Plus, I’ll share tips on how we can all help protect these vital pollinators.
To top it all off, we’ll enjoy a tasting of delicious honey from different European countries, offering a sweet and educational end to this unforgettable experience.
This workshop is available in French, Dutch, and English.
